What are the minimum GPA, SAT, and ACT scores required?
  Question
I would like to apply to an undergraduate program. What are the minimum GPA, SAT, and ACT requirements to be considered for admission?
  Answer
The applicant's previous scholastic record is an important indicator of success at the university. Applicants are required to achieve a minimum grade-point average of 2.8 in high school, or 2.2 in previous college work. The average GPA is 3.67 with an average SAT of 1,125 and ACT score of 24. Our minimum SAT is a 910 with a minimum of a 480 Verbal and a 430 Math. Our minimum ACT score is a 19. At APU, we only consider the Critical Reading and Math sections of the new SAT, so these scores are based soley on those two parts.

GPAs are determined by the university. High school GPAs do not include grades in physical education or driver's training. High school honors have "weighted" credit in determining the student's overall GPA. While applicants are considered for admission on the basis of their merit, certain criteria are used in the selection process. In some cases, the admissions committee may request a personal interview with the applicant.

APU, in compliance with federal regulations, does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, gender, age, disability, status as a veteran, or any other characteristic protected by law in any of its policies, practices, or procedures.

All freshman applicants are required to submit scores from the American College Testing (ACT) Program or the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT I). It is recommended that all high school applicants take the ACT or SAT I by December of their senior year. Applicants may secure detailed information on testing schedules from their high school. Click Here to see how the university calculates high school GPA.

Transfer students are not required to submit preadmission test (SAT/ACT) scores if they have 12 or more transferrable credits. Transfer students are also not required to submit high school transcripts if they have 28 or more transferrable credits.
