How does undergraduate preregistration work?
 Question
Can you tell me how undergraduate preregistration works for current and incoming students? Is there somewhere I can find general information about this?
 Answer
 Returning Undergraduate Students
Preregistration for courses occurs during the prior semester (i.e., spring 2007 preregistration takes place during the fall 2006 semester). Preregistration is only open to current APU students.

ALL students must meet with an academic advisor before preregistering. Preregistration can take place one of two ways: online (through the student's Cougars' Den account) or in the Office of the Registrar. For preregistration dates for the current semester, visit the Academic Calendar web page.

For more information on class registration, visit www.apu.edu/registrar/undergraduate/registration/.

New/Incoming Undergraduate Students
New Student Preregistration is a time for speaking with admissions staff and people throughout the university to get a better glimpse of APU. Students planning to attend APU the upcoming semester will be registering for their classes at this time.

APU holds two types of preregistration depending on where you live:

On-Campus Registration
For those students that can make it to campus for New Student Preregistration, several dates are available. These all day events (starting at 8 a.m.) take place three times in the summer for the upcoming fall semester and once during the fall for the upcoming spring semester. For more information, please contact your admissions counselor or visit the New Student Preregistration website.

Summer Registration Receptions
For those students that live beyond feasible driving distance to APU, we offer several summer Registration Receptions for incoming students. In addition to registering for classes, this is also a time for prospective students to get a small glimpse of APU without visiting campus.

Please check back in the fall for detailed information regarding spring semester preregistration which will take place in October/November.

Prior to all preregistration events, incoming students should receive a packet of information including:

 • A map
 • Class openings
 • A list of frequently asked questions

For further information, or if you did not receive a packet, feel free to call us at the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at 1-800 TALK APU.

You can read more about preregistration online at www.apu.edu/preregistration.
